Once you are a Divemaster, you can take an Instructor course. These courses will teach you how to teach others to dive. You must have a minimum of 100 dives.
HOW LONG DOES THE COURSE TAKE?
The course can be completed within a week, depending on the skill and level of the diver.
WHAT DOES THE COURSE CONSIST OF?
You have 3 options;
You can take the corresponding courses to obtain any of the following degrees:
- Assistant Instructor This is an optional degree. In addition to what you can perform as a Divemaster, you can also assist in the training of divers up to and including the level of Assistant Instructor, you can instruct Scuba Divers and Open Water Divers by yourself, although you cannot evaluate or certify them. The minimum age is 18 years.
- Entry Level Instructor: This is an optional degree. You will be able to perform what the Assistant Instructor does as well as evaluating and certifying Scuba Divers and Open Water Divers. It is a recommended course for those who want a slower progression at the Open Water Instructor level. The minimum age is 18 years.
- Open Water Instructor As a Divemaster you can directly access this course to obtain the Open Water Instructor level. You can also evaluate and certify Advanced Divers, Rescue Divers, Divemasters and any specialty for which you have obtained the title of Specialty Instructor. The minimum age is 18 years.
